The network for holistic flood prevention and flood risk management

 

The Flood Competence Center (HKC) is a non-profit association from Germany that connects flood-affected citizens and stakeholders in flood risk management to build a unique network. The HKC was founded in 2007 and consists of almost 200 members and cooperations. The members of the HKC are composed of national and international institutions and municipalities, citizens and policy-makers, science and economy.

 

The HKC brings together science and practice for the purpose of holistic flood risk management, promoting sustainable development and the provision and transfer of expertise.

Bonn Science Night

Every two years, the Bonn Science Night offers exciting research and science from the Bonn science region in Bonn's city centre and invites people to engage in dialogue and exchange ideas. It will take place again on 16 and 17 May 2024 !

Communication workshop for the Infomobile consulting service

On November 23, a communication workshop for the Infomobile supervisors took place at the HKC office. The goal was to develop a consulting strategy with the help of the question "What do we want to communicate, with whom and how?"

PARADeS – Workshop „FLOODLABEL Expert Training“ in Accra, Ghana

On 07 + 08 November, the workshop "FLOODLABEL Expert Training" took place in Accra, Ghana, as part of the PARADeS project. Our colleague Helene Meyer met with our Ghanaian partners and together they tested the training concept and first materials for the training of FLOODLABEL experts.
