Flood control exercise in Cologne. The Rhine flood can come.

Cologne - water march! That sounds like a lot of fun at temperatures well over 30 degrees. But the 250 firefighters from Cologne and Niederkassel are sweating. They rehearse together with the THW and under the critical scrutiny of the experts from the city drainage companies (SteB) from Cologne for emergencies. Their goal is to protect Cologne from flooding, and then every grip must be on, cooperation and technology must work perfectly.

Heavy rain: Survey reveals dangerous knowledge gaps

Flood can hit almost all people in Bavaria. But many Bavarians do not feel threatened by it. This is a result of the representative survey "Flood Protection in Bavaria". A total of 1,400 people were surveyed on behalf of the initiative Hochwasser.Info.Bayern in the Free State. One result is particularly disturbing for Constantin Sadgorski, head of the Landshut Water Management Office: "Although a third of Bavaria describes itself as well informed in terms of flood protection, only 13 percent know that heavy rain can hit almost anyone."
