The new HKC Newsletter 2025 #4 has been released and offers exciting insights into current topics related to flood and heavy rainfall preparedness.

The main focus is the expert conference “Living in a Climate-Adapted Way” in Wuppertal, where members and partners of the Flood Competence Center (HKC) discussed how to leverage network synergies for a climate-resilient future. The newsletter also reports on the successful “Water & Us” Action Day in Erftstadt, where the HKC engaged visitors through hands-on activities and a children’s rally to playfully raise awareness about flood protection. Creative input came from students of the ecosign – Academy for Sustainable Design, who developed innovative communication concepts for the HKC. In addition, the newsletter introduces the new brochure “How to Protect Myself and My Home”, which provides practical advice on reducing flood and heavy rainfall risks and is available as a downloadable PDF. The HKC also shares current job postings from its network and highlights upcoming events such as the DWA Flood Protection Day on November 25 in Cologne.
