Heavy rain in the Stuttgart region: water levels rise - flood risk remains low
Today, Wednesday, 4 June 2025, heavy thunderstorms with heavy rainfall of up to 50 litres per square metre and hail have been forecast for the Stuttgart region. These weather events will lead to an increase in the water levels of the Neckar and its tributaries such as the Rems, Enz, Murr and Fils. According to the Baden-Württemberg Flood Forecasting Centre, the highest water level is expected on Thursday, followed by a subsequent drop.
Despite rising water levels, the risk of flooding in the region is estimated to be relatively low. Nevertheless, there is a risk of flooding in cellars and underground car parks.
Avoid these, do not enter flooded areas and avoid contact with flood water.
These events emphasise the importance of preventative measures and personal precautions. We appeal to everyone to inform themselves about local hazards and to take appropriate protective measures.
