On April 21, 2026, the Rheinisch-Bergisch district, together with the city of Bergisch Gladbach, is inviting the public to an information event on hazard prevention and self-protection in the event of heavy rainfall and flooding. In addition to expert presentations and a panel discussion, visitors can also expect an accompanying exhibition with practical information on precautionary measures.

Under the title “Heavy Rainfall and Flooding: Information Event on Hazard Prevention and Self-Protection”, a public information event will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Kreishaus Heidkamp, Am Rübezahlwald 7, 51469 Bergisch Gladbach. The event is aimed at interested residents of the Rheinisch-Bergisch district and provides practical guidance on how to prepare for heavy rainfall events and how to respond appropriately in the event of flooding.

At the heart of the event is a panel discussion from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the possibilities and limits of hazard prevention in flood situations, as well as the importance of personal preparedness and self-protection. The program will be complemented by an expert presentation from the Verbraucherzentrale on structural precautionary measures, insurance-related questions, and ways to protect buildings. In addition, an accompanying exhibition will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., where various institutions and stakeholders will present information and practical examples on heavy rainfall preparedness. No registration is required.
