The German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) is hosting HochwasserTag (Flood Day) in Cologne on 25 November 2025. This year's motto is ‘Risk-based approaches to flooding and heavy rainfall – effective prevention strategies’.
The focus is on strategies for protection against increasing extreme weather events, current research findings and practical experience from local authorities and engineering firms. Specialist presentations, discussion panels and an accompanying trade exhibition offer opportunities for exchange between authorities, specialist planners, engineers, scientists and students.
The event is aimed at anyone who is involved in flood and heavy rain prevention or who would like to find out about new approaches.
